The annual SGCVFD, Inc. Butt Roast will be a little different this year. We are partnering with Boy Scout Troop 47 this year and all proceeds will help fund the Troop's trip to Scotland to attend the Annual International Jamboree this summer. Our local Troop will be one of only eight in the United States that have been invited to attend this Jamboree. That is a tremendous honor for our local Scouts and reflects the commitment and dedication of both the Scouts and their local leaders. But as you can imagine, this trip will be very expensive.

Our Board has a wonderful partnership with Troop 47 and we voted to forego our normal Memorial Day weekend fundraiser to allow Troop 47 to take the reins and hold the Butt Roast at their Scout Hut (2368 Oak Grove Rd in Port St Joe, near the Centennial Building) on May 21, 22, and 23. This, again, shows their commitment to this once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Jamboree by having the Scouts do this fundraiser (yes, we will still provide them some help ).

We can't tell you how proud we are of these local Scouts, and it is our pleasure to help them fulfill this dream trip. We encourage all of our wonderful and faithful supporters who have purchased Boston Butts from us in the past to support this awesome fundraiser. We should be back to our normal procedures next Memorial Day weekend.
