Neighbors Helping Neighbors
The many years the SGCVFD501(c)(3) has helped Gulf County meet the emergency needs of its residents and visitors, we’ve supported our firefighters, EMS Services, Beach Water Rescue, and even the beach flags that provide beachgoers the information they need to be safe in the water.
Hurricane Michael has taught us all that “emergencies” can have many definitions and can impact anybody, anywhere, and at any time. For the past two years, we’ve asked our Butt Roast customers to consider purchasing an extra smoked pork butt and donating it to support the efforts of Two Fish Market. This allowed people to support our efforts AND help those without access to adequate food. In 2025, 19 smoked pork butts were donated. Butt Roast volunteers will use that meat as the primary ingredient in between 250-300 family meals over the next few months.
Thank you to those who answered the call. Neighbors helping neighbors, whether across the street or across the County, make our world a better place. Check back with us or go to our Facebook page to see as our ongoing Community Emergency Response Initiatives are rolled out AND to see how you can play a part.
